Flagger + Virginia International Raceway
Flagger In-Car Alert is excited to announce that starting with the 2022 season VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) will be one of the first tracks in the country with a permanent Flagger In-Car Alert System, available for both members and visitors.
“We recognize the importance of continuing to invest in and support technologies that help drivers, corner marshals and event organizers communicate with each other more quickly and effectively” said Connie Nyholm, VIR Co-Owner and CEO.
During the 2021 season the VIR staff had the pleasure of operating the Flagger In-Car Alert System at several events with great success. The system will be available at all 2022 VIR Club track days, and select driving days, so members and visitors will enjoy an enhanced track experience.
VIR and the Flagger development team will work closely with each other on future enhancements to continue to bring top tier technology and communications to everyone from novice first time drivers all the way to seasoned professional racers. Rental and retail in-car units will be available in the on-site retail shop, TMI Racing Products.
Flagger + Summit Point Motorsports Park
Summit Point Motorsports Park and Universally Modified Performance are pleased to bring the Flagger In-Car Alert System to drivers wanting to experience the latest in flagging technology.
In 2020, the Summit Point Motorsports Park Staff were the very first to use the Flagger System during an 8 hour American Endurance Racing event. Benefits of this new flagging technology were immediately recognized by corner workers, Summit Point Staff, and AER race control. What began as a pilot program at Summit Point is now a full fledged product ready to make tracks everywhere safer.
Fast forward to 2022 and Summit Point Motorsports Park is teaming up with Universally Modified to join tracks like VIRginia International Raceway and Atlanta Motorsports Park in installing a permanent Flagger In-Car Alert System.
“We are very excited to add this new technology to Summit Point's offerings. Safety for our driver's and staff is always something we are looking to improve here at Summit Point Motorsports Park" said Edwin Pardue Director or Motorsports.
The Xator Summit Point Training Facility is currently exploring options to use the system to aid in training as well.
About Summit Point Motorsports Park: Summit Point Motorsports Park is a road racing and driver training facility located in Jefferson County, West Virginia about two hours west of Washington, D.C. in the state’s Eastern Panhandle. Owned and operated by Xator Corporation, Summit Point Motorsports Park features three road racing circuits, multiple skid pads and additional amenities.

Flagger + NASA Mid Atlantic
All NASA Mid Atlantic tracks have the Flagger In-Car Alert System permanently installed at the track.
Like many drivers, Flagger CEO and Co-Founder Matt Eastling sometimes missed flags due to inexperience, lack of visibility from rain or a crowded racing field. Convinced there was a better way, he set off to put a team of talented engineers and designers together to tackle the problem. 5 years later, his team has a proven product that has been used from Watkins Glen to NOLA and all points in between.
Purchase of a Flagger In-Car Alert is not mandatory to run in NASA Mid Atlantic events. Units will be available for purchase or rent at the pro shops and tracks on our schedule.
Matt will be available at all the NASA Mid Atlantic Events in 2022 to answer any questions you have.

Official System of American Endurance Racing
AMERICAN ENDURANCE RACING TO USE FLAGGER IN-CAR ALERT SYSTEM
American Endurance Racing is happy to announce they will be using the Flagger In-Car System, developed by East Coast Racing Technologies, Inc. at all of their 2021 events.
Flagger sends drivers instantaneous notifications when dangerous situations arise on track through the Flagger In-Car using a custom LCD screen and bright LED lights. Utilizing a combination of GPS technology and secure radio telemetry, the Flagger In-Car provides location-specific alerts to drivers. The device is in the driver’s line of sight on the dashboard and can signal to the driver at any point on the track. Since drivers are more alert to potentially dangerous situations around them at all times, fewer accidents occur, creating a cleaner, more enjoyable race for everyone involved.
Every corner worker is equipped with a portable wireless FlagStation Controller that allows them to electronically set flags which are instantly received in vehicles on the Flagger In-Car. In the control tower, the status of each corner marshal is displayed on a screen with a large track map, allowing the race director to see exactly what is happening everywhere on track. Track Control can also send car specific flags like mechanical and black flags as well as messages to all vehicles or specific groups of cars.
Taking track awareness a step further, the Flagger In-Car also notifies track control if a vehicle has stopped on track, spun, or experienced an impact. This aids in quicker response time from track marshals when it matters most.
The Flagger In-Car needs no connection to the car or permanent installation, making it suitable for everything from a brand new sports car to a fully developed race car.
On July 15, 2021 AER will mandate the Flagger In-Car for all cars racing in the series. Some rental units will be available from AER but it is strongly urged that each team gets their own Flagger In-Car.
AER has followed the development of this exciting new technology since seeing it at the 2017 Performance Racing Industries trade show and shares Flagger’s enthusiasm for more alert drivers, informed track control personnel and empowered corner workers.
Official System of Atlanta Motorsports Park
Bringing a new level of safety to its highly technical track, Atlanta Motorsports Park is pleased to announce its use of the Flagger In-Car Driver Alert System for the AMP Racing Series and club member days.
Flagger sends drivers instantaneous notifications when dangerous situations arise on track through a quicker and more detectable process than a marshal. The device is in the driver’s line of sight on the dashboard and can signal to the driver at any point on the track, unlike flag stands which can be spread out. Since drivers are more alert to potentially dangerous situations around them at all times fewer accidents occur, creating a cleaner, more enjoyable race for everyone involved.
Corner marshals are empowered with a portable wireless FlagStation device that allows them to electronically set flags which are instantly received in vehicles on a compact Flagger In-Car mobile device. Using a combination of GPS technology and secure radio telemetry, the Flagger In-Car device provides location-specific alerts to drivers using a custom LCD screen and bright LED lights. In race control, the status of each corner marshal is displayed with a large track map on screen allowing the race director to see exactly what is happening everywhere on track.
The Flagger In-Car Mobile Device is impossible to miss when mounted on a car’s dash or windscreen. Bright LED lights will flash making the driver very aware of flags set by corner workers. The in-car alert system greatly reduces the chance of secondary impacts with stopped or slow moving cars, debris on track, or with a faster overtaking vehicle.
Taking safety a step further, the Flagger In-Car Mobile Device can also notify track control if a vehicle has stopped on track, spun, or experienced an impact, providing crucial information about the driver’s condition. This aids in quicker response time from track marshals and keeps drivers safer when it matters most.
The Flagger System, created by East Coast Racing Technologies, Inc., was developed and tested at Atlanta Motorsports Park by AMP founding member Glenn Stephens. The in-car Flagger Mobile needs no connection to the car or permanent installation, making it suitable for everything from a brand new sports car to a fully developed race car. In addition to critical flag information, the track operator can send flags and messages to all vehicles, specific groups of cars or individual drivers.
Glenn from Flagger said, “As a founding member of the track, it’s great to work with AMP to develop Flagger. We’re pleased that AMP will adopt the technology to improve safety.”
Atlanta Motorsports Park is the perfect place for Flagger to implement this revolutionary new technology thanks to the track’s drastic changes in elevation. The AMP main circuit is FIA grade two certified which will help Flagger as they continue to expand to tracks and racing series across the country.
Starting in 2021, the Flagger System will be used in all AMP Racing Series events. Drivers who opt-in will have the option to either Buy or Rent an Alert System to make their racing safer!
